Dear Friends,

Christmas Eve at the Methodist Church here in town offers the Lord’s Supper Celebration 5:00 p.m. with their pastor Dr. Jodie Cothen at their location 410 W. 11th Avenue in Lumberton, Mississippi.  Christmas Day at First Baptist Lumberton we will meet only at 10 a.m. that day to celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  May you come and worship Him with us and have a very Merry Christmas!

Single ladies may get a free oil and filter change for their vehicles this Saturday 12-10-11 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lumberton, MS.  On Sunday 12-11-11 “Cradle, Cross, and Crown” will be a unique, unforgettable experience of The Lord’s Supper for everyone present.  That night at 6:00 “Christmas in Action” from Matthew 1:18-21 will emphasize that celebrating Christ’s birth is a call to doing what spreads God’s love.  Hope to see you here!

Dear Friends,

Dr. Kevin and Pam Shearer will be our Guest Speakers Sunday morning 12-4-11 at 10:00.  Kevin is the pastor at 38th Avenue Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS.  He and Pam served as International Mission Board Missionaries to Peru for 20 years.  They returned stateside in 2010 and are both from Jones County, MS.  That night Dr. Brian Williamson will be our Guest Speaker at 6:00.  Brian was raised as an Air Force brat and is currently the Chaplain at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.  Come hear some good preachin’!

Dear Friends,

No Wednesday night activities this week…  The next day is Thanksgiving Day!  Our Church Offices will be closed on November 24 and 25.  ”Thanksgiving Leftovers” will be our 10 a.m. message on Sunday 11-27-11 where Colossians 2:6-7 gives handles supporting an attitude of gratitude for every day.  That night at 6:00 we’ll find “Domino Faith” in our enduring travel through the Book of James where 2:20-26 will encourage us in and reveal results of a genuine dependence on God.  Do come and take part with us…  You’re welcome here!

Dear Friends,

Our Thanksgiving Feast is open to the public this Wednesday 11-16-11 at 6 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall…  A lot of food, and everybody is welcome!  Then, “Thank You for Being a Friend” is Sunday 11-20-11 at 10 a.m. from Acts 28:11-16 where we find some good reasons for celebration, not only on Thanksgiving Day, but every day.  Community Thanksgiving service is that night 6 o’clock at Lumberton United Methodist Church located at 410 W. 11th Avenue in Lumberton, MS.  Sure hope you can take part in all of this!

“Love From God” this Sunday 11-13-11 at 10 a.m. from Hebrews 13:1-6 will show us how to love others, how to love home, and how to love life.  Then at six o’clock we keep exploring James 2:14-19 in our Book Study with “Faith That Works”, helping us translate our believing Jesus into living for Jesus.  There’s a lot going on at First Baptist.  Come join us!
