Pastoral Care

We believe a church should strive to meet individual needs through relationships with others in community. You can develop relationships with others through home groups, support groups, and other connection opportunities. When additional care is required, our pastors & staff are here to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of First Baptist attendees in unique life circumstances. The following services are available:

Financial Assistance

First Baptist Church assists members who are experiencing financial hardship. Fund distribution is made on a case-by-case basis pending a pastoral consultation.  If you are in need, please contact us by email or our Pastor by calling 601.796.8188.

Weddings

To book a wedding at First Baptist Church Lumberton or if you need to request a pastor for your wedding, please contact Sharon Eubanks.

Premarital Counseling

If you are engaged or planning on getting engaged and interested in getting Premarital Counseling then please contact the Our Staff five to six months prior to your wedding date.  The six-month period prior to the wedding is necessary to get each couple through the Premarital Counseling program. One of the engaged couples must currently be a First Baptist Church member.

All couples requesting a pastor from First Baptist Church to perform their ceremony are required to complete premarital counseling. Couples can be counseled through the church’s pastors.  Our Pastors love Christ and have a growing, Christ-centered marriage, but are not professional counselors.  To schedule mentoring, contact Sharon Eubanks.

Funerals

If you are a regular First Baptist Church attendee who has experienced the loss of a family member, and desire a pastor to conduct memorial services, please contact John Sapp, our pastor at 601.463.9800.
